Private Sector Development Council

#Private_Sector_Development_Council in Iraq was established to amplify the crucial role of the private sector in supporting and developing the national economy. Functioning as a vital role for cooperation, the Council bridges the Iraqi government and private sector representatives, operating under the guidance of the #Council_Ministers and supervision of the Ministry of Planning. Its core mission is to improve the business environment and promote #sustainable development across #Iraq.

Ahmed Al Hankawi, representing the Youth Council, was recently appointed as a permanent member of the #Council’s_General_Assembly. This appointment underscores the Youth Council’s role in enhancing the private sector, marking a significant step in strengthening partnerships between public and private sectors and effective innovative solutions to the sector’s challenges.

The Council facilitates regular meetings with the Council of Ministers, enabling direct dialogue between government officials and private sector representatives. This collaborative approach plays a key role in shaping policies that drive economic progress, as it encourages decisions rooted in the needs of the private sector. Additionally, Council members participate in the Ministerial Council for the Economy, actively discussing private-sector-related issues to foster policy coherence and support growth.

The establishment of this Council aligns with the government’s strategic commitment to positioning the private sector as a core partner in Iraq’s economic and social development. By providing implementable solutions and strong support, the Council aims to stimulate #economic growth and open up new opportunities within the private sector, ultimately contributing to Iraq’s broader development goals.
