Iraqi Arbitration Week
As part of the Iraqi Arbitration Week, Etihad Law Firm Ltd. was proud to co-organize a specialized training workshop titled “International Commercial Arbitration for In-House Legal Counsel.”
The event was held in partnership with the Federation of Iraqi Chambers of Commerce (FICC), the State Council, ICC Iraq, UNDP Iraq, and with event management by Progress Group Limited.
The workshop brought together a wide range of legal advisors from government institutions and the private sector, with the objective of strengthening national legal capacity in international commercial arbitration and enhancing practitioners’ understanding of arbitration as an efficient and modern alternative to traditional litigation.
The training was delivered by Dr. Ismail Selim, Director of the Cairo Regional Centre for International Commercial Arbitration (CRCICA), and Dr. Mohammed Abdul Raouf, International Arbitrator and Counsel.
The experts presented advanced concepts and practical applications in arbitration, including best practices for drafting arbitration clauses in commercial contracts in line with UNCITRAL standards and the ICC Arbitration Rules, as well as effective case management tools such as the ICC Portal.
This workshop forms part of the broader national efforts led by FICC and ICC Iraq, with the contribution of Etihad Law Firm, to promote a modern arbitration culture in Iraq, develop legal capabilities, and support a more attractive business and investment environment aligned with international standards.
